Reminiscent of a hot toddy and a Manhattan, this warm cocktail is one to cozy up with on a cold winter’s day. Adapted from Bar Blondeau at the Withe Hotel in Brooklyn, New York, the surprising ingredient in this cocktail recipe is black tea. It tames the strength of the rye whiskey, Amaro, and dry vermouth concoction while literally warming up the cocktail. Pour it into your favorite mug and wrap your hands around it; it’s a special treat after time spent in the chilly outdoors.

Ingredients
1 black tea bag

4 oz. (1/2 cup) boiling water

1 3/4 oz. (3 1/2 Tbsp.) rye whiskey

3/4 oz. (1 1/2 Tbsp.) amaro (such as Montenegro or Nepeta)

1/2 oz. (1 Tbsp.) dry vermouth

1/2 oz. (1 Tbsp.) honey

Navel orange twist, for garnish

Directions
